Why visit Sian Ka'an?
It's like a hidden gem for nature lovers. There are over 300 kinds of birds that call this place home or just drop by during their travels. You'll find big groups of frigatebirds, pelicans, and roseate spoonbills nesting here. And there's even this super rare stork called the 'Jabirú' – the largest stork in the Americas.
But that's not all. There are marine turtles, American and Morelet's crocodiles, and even manatees. And guess what? Right in the middle of nowhere, there's a Mayan temple!
And the name 'Sian Ka'an' has a beautiful meaning in the Mayan language – it means 'Where the Sky Was Born”
